Ethan is 4 Months old and growing so much everyday! He has developed such a sweet personality. He squeals with delight and occasionally gives us a deep belly laugh if you catch him by surprise. It seems that he would rather squeal but his belly laugh is absolutely so adorable that I hope he starts to use it more the next few weeks. In between laughing he likes to purse his lips and blow bubbles at your face. He likes to do it with a full mouth of drool so that he can completely soak you and watch your expression. He likes to smile his huge toothless grin when you grimace and wipe your face off.

Blowing Bubbles
Ethan loves to push the bottle in and out of his mouth and then bring it back up continuously. He does the same thing with his teething toys. Each time I hold up a toy it is as if he has never seen it before because he lights up with delight! His favorite toy right now is his "Nubby" which is a textured ring that has different shapes for him to chew on. He also loves his hanging farm on his car seat. When he pulls the cow it plays different animal sounds!

Ethan routinely wakes up happy and will talk in his crib in the morning until we come in to get him. He has started pushing the button on his Aquarium toy that is hooked on his crib. We laugh every night about 1:00 AM when he pushes it and we hear the music and water playing. At first it scared us because we thought someone was in his room but then we realized he was doing it on his own. Most mornings I go in and Ethan has turned himself in his crib to where he barely fits but he continues to do it every day. He also likes to sleep with his feet up to his chest and on his left side. Now that he can turn over the Dr said his risk for SIDS has dramatically decreased so I am not as paranoid about him sleeping on his side.

Last week we took Ethan to the Doctor for his 4 month Wellness Checkup:

Weight 16 lbs

Ethan is doing so well holding his head and sitting with limited support that we get to start him on his 1st foods! Dr Bumpus recommends starting with Rice Cereal for a few weeks and then transitioning to pureed yellow vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, and then green vegetables. We are supposed to try a new food for 3 days before introducing another new food so that we know if he is allergic to something or if it irritates his tummy. We have started the Rice Cereal and now offer it to him 3 times a day. He doesn't love it but he is really getting the hang of eating from a spoon! The other new skill that Dr Bumpus wants us to practice is drinking from a cup. We fill up a plastic drinking cup and then help him drink it. The water mostly goes on his shirt but it is helping him develop the skill and it is pretty funny to watch his reaction. He isn't sure if he loves it or hates it :-)

My Sweet Baby Loves to fly in the air!
Drooly, Drooly!
This boy has been teething since 3 months. No teeth yet but boy do we go through the bibs.
This toy can go in the refrigerator and he loves it when it is cold.
Ethan loves to go outside and sit under the tree in his bouncer.
John sure loves this little boy!
When John comes into the room and begins speaking Ethan immediately stops what he is doing and looks at him. He loves his Daddy and doesn't want to miss a single word that he says-It is priceless!
Ethan loves his feet. He found them and now doesn't want to let them go!
Bath Time Ducky
Everyday is a new treasure with this little guy! We are enjoying his changing personality and the fact that he is not mobile yet. What a fun stage!
