Ethan is 2!

Ethan is 2!!

From birth to 12 months and now at age 2, Ethan has been the best thing that has ever happened to John and I! Ethan is full of life and his energy is limitless. Every day brings a new surprise with our little man.

We love him so much :-)

Baby Center 24 month Milestones

Names at least six body parts

Yes, he loves to point to our eyes, ears, noses, teeth, feet, hair, and knees and tell us he is going to eat them. He chews them up and says Yumm, Yumm, Yumm. We love it!

Half of speech is understandable

To John and I-Definitely. To others-That is questionable! He definitely talks all the time. Sometimes long phrases in a sing song type voice. When he wants something he finds a way to get the words across!

Makes two- to three-word sentences Talks about self

"Mommy help please", "I want a Ta-Ta (take a bath)" When he sees pictures of himself in our house he says "Oh baby Ethan (sounds like Ian)"

Ethan's Favorite Activities

Riding his new tricycle from MiMi & Papa G, Going to the park, reading books about trains, planes, boats, Winnie the Pooh, or any of the books that have pop-up features, Eating Ice-cream (he likes the green kind) Mint Choc Chip, taking baths and playing with the stick on cars from Earl and Alli

Ethan's New Developments

Has started saying his colors-He tends to get blue, yellow, and green mixed up but definitely has white, red, and purple down
He says his favorite color is green
Loves to sing!! His favorites are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and ABC's
He is getting really good and saying the words-If he can't get a word out he still gets the right rhythm and tune-It is so cute!
Starting to tell me when he goes Potty-We will begin the "training" this summer when I'm home with the baby!

This little boy is no stranger to birthday parties after the month of February. He brought cupcakes to his school, had a party with friends and family at my parents house and a party with family at John's parents house. He LOVES birthdays!!!

Birthday Party #2 at MiMi and Papa O'Hara's

This was a special weekend as the O'Hara family brothers and sisters were all together again for the first time in several years. We did miss Mike, Abby, and Emily!
We were able to celebrate several of the kids birthdays!!

We finally got to meet baby Addison (Addy)-So cute!

Life of a Celebrity

John and I decided that before baby "Melmo" arrives in May we should get one more family vacation in as we will be grounded for the majority of 2012. We choose to go back to our roots and cruise on Celebrity, which is the cruise line that we met on in March of 2003. We both loved this ship and would love to plan another vacation on this boat or one of its "sister" ships in the future.

Celebrity Eclipse

This boat provided a fabulous time and we tried our best to capture our trip in photos; however, I think that traveling with a near 2 year old caused many distractions and this may have been my worst attempt at capturing the memories-Sorry!

This hanging tree could be seen from all the mid ship glass elevators. Ethan thought this was so cool! Every time we went by it (even the last day) he would say WHOA big tree.

Little Man on the First Formal Evening

Stacking the Jelly became a favorite activity during breakfast each morning.

The top deck had a grass area that Ethan loved to run around on and play with the croquet balls.

Pool Time!

This little man has avoided a sun burn so far! He requires constand SPF, hats, and shade but he loves the outdoors!

Ice Cream by the pool...this made for a quick clean up! Just drop him in and wash him off!

" Momma....Come On Get Up!"
This phrase was coined on this trip and is used frequently now...it is pretty cute except when his pregnant mom just wants to sit for a few minutes!

Each night the room attendant would bring chocolate. No matter how hard we tried to hide it Ethan always found it in the morning...He LOVES chocolate!!

Ethan's meal of choice during this cruise was cheese Pizza...Yumm!

The Pool! Ethan absolutely loved to get in the pool.

He also like the hot-tub which he affectionately calls the Papa Ta-Ta. This is because Papa Gwaltney gets in the hot tub most weekend mornings when we visit. Ethan loves to visit Papa in his outdoor "Ta-Ta" and he was so excited that the boat hot tub water was just warm so he could get in!

Ethan's "Me-My Beep Beep" or Lightning McQueen car also loved to swim on this trip. Ethan would watch the water carry the car back and forth along the edge with the sway of the ocean.

Ethan would gather his courage and eventually shout 1.....22222222222222222222222......3 GO!

In he would jump and he occasionally would go under and come up all smiles. I would turn him around and have him kick to the wall and he would get out of the pool by himself. What a great swimmer!
