He is still a good little traveler!
Ethan is fascinated by both Jayhawks and Wildcats!

The Pumpkin Patch!
We took Ethan to the Pumpkin Patch in Bartlesville and he LOVED it! I think his favorite part was getting to pet and feed the goats and getting to ride on the big tractor out to pick his pumpkin. He still hasn’t mastered saying Pumpkin, but he loves to help decorate them!
Ethan is a climber. He climbs anything and everything that he can.
Trick or Treating! Ethan was a clown this year for his first trick or treat! John and I practiced with him all week and by the 31st we had it down. Ethan could finally say TRICK OR TREAT! We only managed to get it out of him one time while we were trick or treating but when he said it we laughed and laughed. His first house he was very tentative. He was mostly excited about getting to ring the doorbell, or stomp on bugs. He had a death grip on each piece of candy at first. He wouldn’t put it in his bag. After a few tears, we finally got him to understand that in order to get more candy he would have to put some of it in the bag. It was very cute. By the end of the night he would rush up to the door and try to grab as much candy as possible. We reminded him every time “just one” but that little guy said thank you to each and every person-He made me so proud!
My little clown! Trick or Treat
Routines: Most mornings John and I wake up to “Mommy” quiet and calm, “Mommy” with slight agitation, “MOMMY” with a GET IN HERE NOW kind of yell. One of us will go to his room and say “Good Morning Sunshine” the first word out of his mouth is typically “Nack” (snack) followed by “Nana”. We then grab a cup of cereal and bring him into our bed and turn on Toy Story 2 so that we can wake up a little more slowly before getting ready for school and work. Ethan loves to sit by the sink with his feet under the dribbling water as John and I “get ready”. He will look at himself in the mirror, laugh at his bed head, and then drink from the water faucet. When he is done he will do it all over again. He can pretty much entertain himself while we prepare for the day!
Ethan loves his school. Every time I ask him if he is excited to go he nods his head and typically follows the nod by saying “Lanie”. Lanie is a little girl in his class that is two weeks older than him and they have been in the same class since Ethan was 3 months. I think she is his best friend. Ethan also loves his teachers Ms Amber and Ms Peggy. They are doing a great job with him and it is fun to see him do things or say things that I know I didn’t teach him. He is a sponge and is learning SO MUCH every day.
After work and school Ethan typically eats dinner. He likes to eat right at 5:45 p.m. His favorite right now is green beans, vanilla pudding, chicken nuggets, and peaches. We generally read a few books or play with “Beep Beeps” and then we prepare for bed. Ethan goes to be bed every night between 7:30-8:00. He loves taking his “Ta-Ta” (bathtub) in John and my bathroom as there is so much room and he can make the “bubools” come out of the jets. To get him out of the “ta-ta” without a fight I generally have to change the subject to what “Night-Night Jammies” he is going to pick out. His favorites are his Buzz, Mater “Cars”, and his Elmo’s. When one of those isn’t available I have to explain that they are in their “ta-ta” and they will be ready tomorrow night. It usually isn’t without tears, but I can usually get him excited about his football PJ’s or any other alternate.
Ethan in his "Melmo's"
In addition to our nightly “Ta-Ta”, Ethan has really started to enjoy “Brush-Brushing” his teeth. He especially loves when I let him use the Ultrasonic toothbrush! He turns it on and it buzzes and hums. I think his teeth probably enjoy getting a good cleaning too! If I’m not up to fighting him to stop brushing then we use his child Crayola toothbrush and he lets me help get the back teeth. He follows any brushing by filling his little Dixie cup with a tiny amount of water, sipping it slowy (trying to avoid the inevitable which is bed), and then making the big “AH” sound. I’m so proud of my big boy. Lately, I have been telling him its time for “Night-Night” and he wraps his arms and legs around me and I take him to his room, turn on his music, rock him (sometimes for a long time because I just love it so much), say his prayers, tell him I’m going to lay him down on the pillow “MiMi” got him, cover him up, tell him I love him, and he simply says “Bye-Bye” and I leave the room. He is just so SWEET!!
Talking: Ethan is talking so much now. He puts 3 words together pretty regularly. For example, more, snack, please. He is very good about saying Thank You. He also loves to point out the moon, beep-beeps, big sky, big stars, swing, Buzz or Woody, and Daddee’s Beep-Beep! One of the cutest things that he said recently was when he was talking with my Mom on the phone. He typically walks around the house with his ear holding the phone to his shoulder (where would he get that multi-tasking trick!) holding at least two cars in his hand saying HI or BYE. This night he dropped his cars, looked at the phone, and very plainly said “MiMi OUT”. He did not want MiMi in the phone anymore. He wanted her to play. It was hilarious!
Well that’s all for now. Stay tuned!
