Our First Road Trip with Ethan

The first week in March John and I planned to take Ethan on his first road trip back to Kansas! To prepare for the 4 hour car ride we decided we needed to get Ethan used to a bottle so that I could feed him in the car and we could stop briefly to change/burp him but not have to wait the entire time he was eating. Ethan did so well and he was able to meet so many wonderful family and friends while we were there :-)

John with Ethan before giving him his first bottle!
At first Ethan made a terrible face like "What the heck is this???" but after a few minutes he got the hang of it and we haven't had any trouble since!
On Thursday John had a dinner in Manhattan for KSU recruiting so we loaded up the car and  traveled up to KS.  We dropped John off at his dinner and met up with my mom, Aunt Julie, Uncle Craig, my cousins Sarah and Joel and their sweet boys Elijah and Emmett. Ethan went to Willy's in Manhattan and was so good the entire dinner. He woke up half way through the dinner but Grandma gave him a bottle and he was a happy camper :)
Daddy and Ethan all dressed up and ready for dinner!

The next day we woke up and traveled to Salina to visit Grandma and Grandpa O'Hara! Grandpa O was celebrating his 64th birthday and it was so fun to get to celebrate with him. Ethan met his cousins Brynn and Macy and Uncle Earl and Aunt Alli too!
Celebrating Grandpa's birthday with dinner at Red Lobster!
Momma Barbe with her two boys- What a handful!
Not sure how she managed this duo when they were kiddos!
Miss Brynn loves her cousin Ethan!  She helped out so much with him!

Can you tell she is a wonderful big sister???
Miss Macy and Alli couldn't meet us for dinner b/c
poor little Macy had a sinus infection and needed to sleep :-(

Grandpa has the magic touch!

Saturday we travled from Salina to Hutchinson to celebrate Great Grandpa Gwaltney's 85th birthday! Ethan met most of my cousins and Aunts and Uncles. It was wonderful to see Grandpa and Marsha and most of my extended family! After the party we stayed at my Grandma Krehbiel's house and the next morning had lunch with her and my Aunt and Uncle Jack and Faith. Ethan is so lucky to have such a wonderful family!
